One Chevy ad stated - "Like going places in high style at low cost? Look no farther than the shapely 4 door Delray. Your family's small ones can practically sight over the roof - it's that low". Another ad said "The traveling as nifty as the price is thrifty". The Delray 2 door utility sedan was a business mans car all wrapped up in style. The utility sedan had oversize room for extra loads. It's "easy-to-get-to" rear compartment made cargo carrying easy and there was was still room for three passengers in the front seat. The 1958 Chevrolet Delray 2 door Sedan Delivery was a popular vehicle with TV repairmen.

Approximately 180,000 Delray's were built. In 1958, the Delray was Chevrolet's price-leading, no-frills model, with the more expensive models being the Impala, Belair and Biscayne. The low priced Delray had limited options, minimal interior and exterior trim. As such, this model was popular with fleet buyers such as police departments and businesses. |
